Gasser Chair Company was founded in 1946 by three brothers, Louis, Roger and George Gasser. From the beginning, the brothers instilled into their young company the basic traditions of sound engineering principles, innovative product design and application, and careful attention to detail. As innovators, Gasser Chair Company was the first to design and develop a unique style of aluminum framed seating specifically for the hospitality and entertainment industries. (Aluminum offered a highly durable, lightweight frame, as well as a new and different choice of frame finishes and colors.) From this aluminum frame concept, Gasser designed and engineered a special, flexible aluminum bracket to connect a seat and backrest, and thereby provide greater seating comfort. This innovation lead to the development of Gasser's Comfort ZoneŽ seating line in the early 1950s and the industry's first engineered, flexible backrest.
